Dr. Acharya is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and program director for the postgraduate Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry program at UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. She completed her pediatric dental training, as well as a general practice residency, at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. She received a master’s degree in public health from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Public Health. Aside from teaching dental students and pediatric dentistry residents, Dr. Acharya sees pediatric patients through the UTHealth Pediatric Dentistry Faculty Practice at Houston Medical Center Plaza, 6655 Travis St., Suite 460 in Houston.
As a member of the UTHealth Cleft and Craniofacial Team, she is involved with presurgical molding of infants with cleft lip and palate.
