Dr. Elham Abbassi is Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Green Group Practice. Prior to joining UTHealth Houston SOD in 2019 she practiced in Houston Metro area since 2001 and has dedicated her professional life to continuous learning in order to provide a more comprehensive and better care to her patients. Dr. Abbassi started her post-graduate studies in Orthodontics that led her to learn about obstructed airway and its effect on facial growth. She dedicated more than two years of her career to learn about Dental Sleep Medicine, to treat patients with upper airway resistance syndrome using Oral Appliance Therapy, and manage side effects leading her to learn more about TMD and Orofacial pain. She obtained Diplomate status at American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in 2020 and is currently practicing in Faculty Practice as well as teaching clinical dentistry.
