Biography

Norma’s path began with a solid foundation. Initially, she launched her career as a dental assistant and obtained her Associate of Applied Science in Health Sciences. Moving forward, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the prestigious University of Texas School of Dentistry. Her commitment to lifelong learning led her to become a registered dental hygienist (RDH) in the state of Texas. Norma’s persistence in deepening her knowledge continued. She pursued and obtained her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene from the School of Dentistry in 2024. Her capstone project, “Unveiling the Elements of Human Trafficking: Intervention & Recognition to Dental Hygiene Students,” 

centered on developing a course tailored to help students understand and address human trafficking within their scope of practice. But that’s not all—she also holds certifications in laser dentistry and nitrous oxide monitoring.  

Norma has graced various dental settings with her expertise. From community-based clinics to specialized offices, she has left her mark. Her patient-centered approach stands out—whether caring for periodontally compromised patients, guiding individuals on oral hygiene, or aiding in complex treatments. Norma’s ability to connect with patients and empower them toward better oral health is truly commendable. 

Norma is not just a practitioner; she’s part of a larger network. She’s a proud member of the American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA), the Bay Area Dental Hygienists Society, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Staying connected to her professional community ensures she remains at the forefront of advancements and best practices. 

Norma’s dedication doesn’t stop at patient care. She’s presented research on topics like “Numb Chin Syndrome: A Signal of Underlying Concern.” Her work has been published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene, contributing valuable insights to the field.
