Liz Hamilton joined UTSD as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Practice and Dental Public Health in 2015.
Dr. Hamilton is a graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and UTSD’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program, where she served as Chief Resident. She joined the UTSD faculty while practicing part time in Houston, and later transitioned to a full-time career in academia. She continues to treat patients at UTDentists.
Dr. Hamilton currently serves as Group Practice Director of Yellow Practice. She co-directs the Third and Fourth Year Operative course and contributes to a number of other clinical and didactic courses at UTSD.
She has previously served on multiple UTSD and UTHealth committees, and currently serves as the chair of the UTSD Dental Admissions committee. She is an active member of organized dentistry, an avid volunteer, ADEA Emerging Leaders’ Program graduate, and a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Fraternity.
Dr. Hamilton’s previous CE presentations and research topics include dental trauma, clinic utilization models, student interest in dental academia, and digital dentistry.
